The short version: the checker works without us storing anything about you. We only store something if you set a stock alert or leave a review, and both are deleted on the schedules below.
Stored: your email address, the exact product variant and your chosen stores. Kept until the alert fires. When it fires, we send one email and the alert record (including your email) is deleted from our database at that moment; the send queue entry is deleted once the email is accepted by our sending service. Alert emails are sent via the site operator’s email service (currently an Instinct agent mailbox), which processes your address to deliver that one email. We don’t control that provider’s own delivery logs.
Stored: the display name and review text you submit, published after human moderation. Kept until you ask us to remove them via the contact email.
Your last picker selection is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers your search. If you tap “Near me”, your browser’s geolocation is used in the page to sort stores by distance and is not transmitted to our servers. Clear either via your browser settings.
Postcode searches go to postcodes.io (they see the postcode and your IP). The live map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. Stock data is fetched by our server from apple.com’s public pickup feed, not from your browser.
The site runs on Cloudflare Pages/Workers with a Cloudflare D1 database. Cloudflare processes requests and keeps standard server logs (which include IP addresses) under its own privacy policy; we don’t use them to track you.
No accounts, no passwords, no marketing emails, no tracking or analytics cookies, no advertising, and we never sell your data.
Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Contact: dgnfuy@mail.instinct.com.
